Recommended Feeds - Download

The following is our recommended feeds to use. See the attached tables from Ross Breeders of the requirements for the optimal growth of Ross Broilers. Some feeds on the marked do not comply with the recommended minimum standards of Ross. Make sure to buy the right feed to get the optimal growth on your chickens.

Very important is the Protein minimum level. The composition of the protein to get to the levels also must have enough Digestible Protein in the compound. In some cases, cheap oilcakes are used just to comply with minimum Protein levels and are not digestible by chickens and is of no use of your stock. According to the tests we have used the cheaper feed per bag and have found in every test that it worked out to be more expensive per Kilogram meat harvested on the end as what the more expensive better feed have worked out.

These feeds are available upon on request from the following distributors. Insist on getting this feeds! Rather pay a couple of rand more per bag and save a lot of money at the end. Be advised, with Meadow Budget you will not reach the desired results.

The tests that we done were as follow – We divided one house in 3 parts to only separate the chicks. Then we used one batch of chicks mixed them and divided them into equal quantities for every part. Then we use 3 different kinds of feed from different companies for every other group. We bought all the necessary equal amount of Starter and Grower from each company at once to get the same batch of their feed as recommended to the different groups.

With every test we have done the outcome was more or less the same with the initial cheaper feed per bag worked out to be the most expensive at the end. The cheaper feed did not last the 6 weeks to slaughter and we had to buy about 2 bags extra per 100 chicks to get to the 6 weeks slaughter time. The implication was that after buying the 2 bags extra it already worked out more expensive than what the initial saving by buying the cheaper bag at the beginning was. Then at 6 weeks of age the group that had the cheaper feed was up to 20% smaller and lighter as the other groups that was getting the more expensive recommended feed. Then coming to the conclusion that The chickens did not grow and perform satisfactory on the cheaper feed. This and the fact that we had to buy extra feed for that group made that group to worked out the most expensive of the groups.

Use the right feed and make sure the you can sell or slaughter your chickens at 6 weeks. Our Ross 1 broilers can slaughter out at 42 days up to 2,6kg average if you manage them well and use the recommended feed.

Aanbeveelde Voere - Laai Af

afskorting. Dan gebruik ons vir elke afdeling ‘n ander voermaatskapy of selfde maatskappy se verskillende reeks in
elke afskorting.
